The design for this “Hi–Fi” or stereo cabinet was developed
when enclosures were desired for the electronic media of the day. The theme was “a
Spanish sideboard”. The unit encloses
the stereo equipment (tuner, amplifier & speakers) & hides the television
set behind doors that retract into the cabinet – a new innovation at that
time.
Ironically the unit is presently being converted by adding shelves and will return to the function of it's thematic inspiration - it will be a dining room storage unit.
